Come discover the many faces of Santa Claus! From the Saint Nicholas of Medieval times to today’s most modern, high-tech, communication-savvy jolly man in red, who continues to reward good little girls and boys from various cultures around the world. You can also admire our giant Christmas tree and our magnificent 20-foot-high holiday chandelier in the Ruelle des Fortifications.

Celebrate the holiday spirit with this animated 3D film, overflowing with laughter and surprises. Lost in the Great North a snowman comes upon Santa’s village. Jealous of the warm and cheerful atmosphere that permeates the village, he attempts to capture the spirit of Christmas. After a series of misadventures, the story comes to a happy ending celebrating joy and friendship. This whimsical film was created by the Jimmy Neutron film team. It’s wonderful entertainment for all ages!

The holiday season begins on November 16 at Sir George-Étienne Cartier National Historic Site with its popular Victorian Christmas.

Through December 23, the historic home of the Cartier family will be decked out in its most beautiful Christmas decorations. The inspiring period bourgeois décor promises to be a veritable feast for the eyes! Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The popular Victorian Christmas is back! The historic home of the Cartier family will be decked out in its most beautiful Christmas decorations.

Join our costumed guides and learn about the secrets of holiday home décor in the 1860s from the master of the house and his servant!

Storytelling Matinee, The Night Before Christmas

November 27 and December 3, 10 and 17

Enter the magical world of Christmas Eve with a reading of Clement Clark Moore’s famous story, The Night Before Christmas.

This story has inspired numerous illustrators and forever changed our image of the character who hands out presents to good children.

 

 

 

At the Christmas Table
November 27 and December 4, 11 and 18

Take your seat at the Cartier table and join the family’s chief steward for a special presentation on the art of entertaining.

You’ll learn about the origin of certain traditional holiday dishes, what people ate in the Victorian era, and, of course, a few basic rules of etiquette and entertaining!
